A rectifier that conducts on both positive and negative halves of the incoming sinusoidal signal. It produces a "pulsating" DC composed of single-polarity "humps" at twice the incoming AC frequency. The full-wave rectifier requires less filtering than a half-wave rectifier to produce the same degree of ripple in the output DC waveform.
