Poison ivy
A three-leaflet plant that is well known for causing sever burning, itching, redness, and blistering in the skin as a result of an inflammation reaction. A native North American plant belonging to the plant genus known as Toxicodendron, poison ivy produces a resin called urushiol that can cause an allergic rash after direct skin contact.
Poison ivy plants are found throughout the U.S. except for desert areas, higher elevations (above 4,000 feet), Alaska, and Hawaii. Poison ivy is most common in the eastern U.S.
