to kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee

To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. It was immediately successful, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and has become a classic of modern American literature.

Set in Alabama in the 1930s, this powerful story is narrated through the eyes of a feisty six year old girl. She recounts a story of courage and goodness in the face of prejudice. In 2006, British librarians ranked this novel ahead of the Bible as the one book "every adult should read before they die".
