• My personal background
I am a Polyglot Translator with excellent knowledge of English, French, Portuguese, Italian,
Catalan and Spanish (my native language), in both its Latin-American
and Peninsular variants.
As the daughter of a Mexican ambassador I travelled the world ever since
my birth in Cairo and resided in 7 different countries (Brazil, Italy, Spain, France,India, Colombia and Mexico). I took extensive part in
diplomatic life acquiring a unique multicultural background and meeting
very diverse personalities from writers, artits, national celebrities, nobel peace prizes, to the most enriching anonymous people from every corner of the world.
• My professional background
I have been in the freelance translation industry for over 4 years now:
I offer Translation, Proofreading and Voice-over services.
I have worked mainly for Brazil’s largest software company acquiring
experience in a wide range of translation types: from internal training manuals
(Sales, HR, Finance, Marketing, Product Localization, Software Factory, Help Desk…), corporate presentations, marketing materials, contracts, e-learning programs,software localization to interpreting with foreign clients.
I am very inclined towards literary translation. I recenlty finished translating
my first book from french into english: "Healed through love and spirituality" (23000 words).
I hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology specializing in Psycho-pedagogy,
obtained from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2006.
I am a practicing psychopedagogist and a culture and language
teacher at different universities.
I've had interpreting experience as a consecutive interpreter in business
meetings as well as video conferences between universities in Mexico and Brazil.
I volunteer on a regular basis for non-profit organizations translating
articles for their web pages. And I have incurred in other types of translations
such as alternative medicine manuals and eastern philosophy articles.
