special relativity plus

Special relativity plus is an extension of Albert Einstein's special theory of relativity (STR) concerning mass-energy equivalence, as expressed by E=mc2, where c is the speed of light in vacuum. According to Einstein, anything that travels at the speed of light is equivalent to energy. Einstein and another physicist before him, Galileo Galilei, dealt with all motion properties up to the speed of light. Their theories lead to the discovery of a wide range of physics laws such as length contraction, time dilation and relativity of simultaneity.

Special relativity plus, on the other hand, intends to deal with the phenomenon about what happens when something travels faster than the speed of light. The author postulates that this is when intelligence is born. Indeed, we can view intelligence as anything that travels faster than the speed of light, expressed as I = mb2, where I stands for intelligence, and b is a speed of the human brain, or a speed above the speed of light in vacuum. Applying this theory, it's conceivable that someday computers will rival human brains in terms of their intellectual capacity as the machine processing power continues to increase.

Even the world's fastest super computers today are dwarfed by the speed in which our brain neuron cells process and transmit information through electrical-chemical signals. Nevertheless, computers with their current speeds are already rivaling humans in some ways such as playing chess games and crunching out large numbers of calculations constantly.
